Community Functions   (Select Topic for additional information)

Fire Protection: The Township of the Archipelago and other nearby municipalities do not provide fire protection of any kind for the Kapikog Lake area. So even though there is a fire station in Mactier, cottagers should not expect them to respond to a fire at Kapikog Lake.
Neither does the Cottager Owners Association provide fire protection services. We have located high pressure pump/hose units at three different locations on the lake which may be borrowed by cottage owners or their representatives to fight fires at their own risk. The effectiveness of such an arrangement depends largely on the users involved and their knowledge of the pump locations and operating procedures.
These pumps and associated equipment are provided on a best efforts basis and the Association assumes no responsibility for their reliability or for injuries to anyone using this equipment. You are urged to attend a demonstration, read/reread the instructions under this topic and ensure that you are capable of using the equipment in an emergency.

Cottage Watch Program: The Association provides this service to members. It is offered at no cost, by volunteers from the Association, and involves periodic off-season, primarily wintertime, visits to cottages for the purpose of reporting any damage or safety issues to the owner.
To qualify for the program, cottagers need to be a member of the Association and complete a Cottage Watch Release Form, available here for printing and mailing.

The Welcome Wagon: A package of information for newcomers to Kapikog Lake. This includes details of the Owners Association, its Executive Committee members and functions, and various other pieces of useful information. This is available from Vice-President Tina Bell who should also be contacted by any member who encounters new residents.

Incident Report: A report form provided by the Township for convenient, official reporting of incidents related to such matters as unruly/unsafe behaviour, property damage, trespassing, parking/mooring, pollution and other environmental damage. The Council undertakes to review all reports. Form is available here for printing and recording the required information.

Kapikog Lake Route Map: Map with route instructions for display, print or eMailing.
